Dear Members of the Redstone Homeowners’ Association,
Due to the public gathering restrictions imposed by Alberta Health Services (AHS) as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for April 8, 2020 was postponed. Now that these restrictions have been recently lifted by AHS, we are pleased to advise you that the AGM of the Redstone Homeowners Association is scheduled for Wednesday September 16, 2020 at 6:30pm at the Genesis Centre, located at 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE.
Please refer to the Notice of AGM from your Redstone Homeowners’ Association for more details.
We ask that all members in attendance to practice social distancing and wear a mask. There will be a limit of 50 members due to current COVID-19 restrictions imposed by AHS.
We thought it would be useful to provide the following information regarding the Redstone HOA and the AGM prior to the meeting.
1. Did you know that your Homeowners’ Association was initialized in 2015?
The Redstone Homeowners' Association was established to protect the value of the community amenities and to ensure a high degree of maintenance of these amenities. Presently, and until the community reaches its development potential and is turned over to the Community; the Association is managed by a Developer and is governed by a Board of Directors through a set of bylaws.
2. What is the HOA responsible for and what does the HOA do?
The HOA is responsible for the management and maintenance of some common amenities within the community and membership events. It is also responsible for administering the annual budget to facilitate the maintenance of the amenities and these events. These amenities currently include, parks and playgrounds, walking paths, plaza areas with benches, rock feature walls, decorative fencing, entry features and the enhanced landscape maintenance of certain boulevards and medians.
Organized events and ongoing communication through the web site and a newsletter are also provided to enhance the sense of community and encourage neighbourly relations.
3. What can you expect during the AGM?
The Chairman of the Board of Directors will introduce the meeting and call the meeting to order. Following this, the Chair will introduce the existing Board Members and any HOA staff or special guests in attendance. The Chair will continue by sharing what the responsibilities of the Board are each year. Finally, the Chair will define the purpose of the AGM, which is to conduct the following business of the Redstone HOA:
1. to set the number of directors on the Board for the upcoming year,
2. to approve the Minutes of the previous AGM,
3. to receive the Auditor's Report and the Financial Statements of the Association for the year ending April 30, 2019
4. to appoint the Auditor for the year ending April 30, 2020.
Financial Statements of the HOA can be viewed here (You will need a Member login to view).
We will not be holding a Question & Answer session at this meeting due to the absence of members able to attend, but have chosen not to because of the Covid-19 concerns. Instead, the HOA will be conducting an online survey later on this fall of all members regarding the Association. Details of this survey will be communicated at a later date.
We do ask that you RSVP your attendance by Friday, September 11 by 5:00pm - by emailing email@example.com.
Please keep an eye on the Redstone HOA website and your email inbox for updates and information regarding the AGM.
